The Dubai Hurricanes are dedicated to increasing the participation of rugby to both ex pats and Emiratis alike. Rugby is a unique sport in that can be enjoyed by all shapes, sizes, abilities and backgrounds; however enjoyment of the sport is often dependent on the quality of the coaching. Coaches should be able to deliver fun, active, purposeful and safe sessions, every session.

The Academy not only believes in unlocking potential in players, but also in coaches. It is our aim to be able to supply coaches with stimulating resources, ideas and sessions that develop the sport we love at grass roots and at the elite level.

Scholarships

In a unique effort to encourage Emiratis to take up the game of rugby, DHL are providing Scholarships to UAE Nationals.

Whilst being registered to a UAERF Affiliated Club is ideal it is not a necessity in order to obtain a scholarship. The Academy Coaching team will assess an individual’s ability in order to place them in one of the two programmes.

The coaching team is supported by senior Emirati players and endorsed by the UAERF the Academy will be happy to get any UAE National not registered with a club in contact with a club near them.

Academy Ambassadors

A special feature of the Academy is its access to ex-international players of the game who will run master-classes for both programmes during their stay in Dubai. These master classes will be run throughout the season and will give participants in the Academy insights to playing the game at the highest level. All the Ambassadors look forward to giving you skill tips and advice and showing you how to improve your game. Please review their profiles by clicking on their name
